TB SKIN TESTING

Aplisol MANTOUX
J2 Laboratories is Southern Arizona’s preferred option for TB Skin Testing. A tuberculin skin test (TB) is performed to determine if you have ever been exposed to tuberculosis (TB). This type of testing may be required for health care, assisted living personnel, shelters, and other programs.
A tuberculin skin test, also referred to as a Mantoux tuberculin skin test (TST), requires two visits. On the first visit the test is placed; on the second visit, a J2 Patient Services Rep will read the test.
- The TB skin test is performed by injecting a small amount of fluid (called tuberculin) into the skin on the lower part of the arm.
- A person given the tuberculin skin test must return within 48 to 72 hours to have a trained Patient Services Representative look for a reaction on the arm.
